Some Memorable Cannonball Run Movie Cars

This has to be one of the most favorite movies that featured fast cars even before the like of the Fast and the Furious franchise came about. The plot starts out with a spoiled son of a Arab sultan started a race in which he is going to take part in and offered a million dollars as prize money. A bunch of difference characters took part in the race including Jackie Chan who was still building up his career as an actor that time.

 1. Lamborghini Countach - This should be on top of the list. This car adorned the walls of the little boys of the 80's. Even now if you show a picture of a Countach to a boy I am sure he will say how awesome the car is considering its performance numbers as well as the level of comfort is considered coming from the stone age of automotive history. Not to mention that this is the car driven by the 2 hottest contestants of the race.

 2. Mercedes Benz 300 SL - This only came out as some sort of cameo. It didn't have really long appearance in the movie but it sure as hell as worth mentioning it. This car became the replacement for the Countach driven by Jill Rivers and Marcie Thatcher.

 3. Aston Martin DB5 - As another attraction to the already powerhouse cast of the movie, Roger Moore (Yes James Bond) appeared in the movie with the legendary Aston Martin DB5. This has to be the most legendary of all the Aston Martin cars (probably followed closely by the Lotus Esprit). Roger Moore did not really have that long of camera exposure in the movie that it did give the movie that extra punch.

 4. Dodge Tradesman Ambulance - Of course we cannot forget the ever famous Dodge ambulance that was used by Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLuise. They figured if they are going to win the race it would be better to not have the law going against them and this is made possible by faking an emergency all throughout the race.

 5. Ferrari 308 GTS - The tandem of Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. used this all stylish Ferrari. I guess you can say that their role is more of to make the lives of J.J Mclure and Victor Prinzi (Reynolds and DeLuise) hard and to make sure that they do not win the race at all. Nobody really want to be the bad guy but I wouldn't mind at all if I get to do it in a 308.

 6. Rolls Royce Silver Shadow - The Sheikh that was played by Jamie Farr is using this elegant Silver Shadow. Nowadays it may seem as stereotyping but no matter what decade it is but as long as you are sporting the latest Rolls Royce it is definitely going to be an incredible ride no matter what role you have.

 7. Mitsubishi Colt - Even though Jackie Chan was not actually named in the movie (he was only named as Mitsubishi Driver #1) the car did not go unnoticed. This was the time when the Colt was recognized for its superior performance for its price. The Mini Cooper has gathered fame and so Mitsubishi responded with the Colt.

Keeping Your Car Alive

When you're trying to use your car as much as you can for as long as it will go, maintaining the engine and the parts isn't the only way to do it, you have to keep up the exterior as well. Dirt and oils can seriously damage your vehicle's exterior and cause conditions that can be expensive to fix or too bad to fix at all.

So let us help you maintain the exterior of the outside so it can last longer or so you can get a great resale value!

  • Washing. Don't overlook the simplest task you can do to help maintain your car's look! Drivers will go for long periods of time without washing their car. Getting it washed always seems like a hassle, especially in the cold winter months, but that's when it's the most important! If you live in a cold climate, the salt from the roads to prevent ice can easily cause your vehicle's underbelly and paint to rust if it's not washed off in enough time. If you live in a warmer climate, you can still experience rust from oil or dirt that build up on your vehicle over time and if it is not properly washed off it can destroy the layer of paint your vehicle has on it.
  • Interior. Cleaning the interior is just as important as cleaning the exterior. Leaving food or drinks that have spilt can cause mold and even rust as well. If you have a bunch of kids that are always eating in the car be sure to do your best to vacuum the vehicle every once in a while. If someone spills a drink and it seeps into the seats, floor or even just sits like a puddle in a cup holder and it's left there, it can begin to mold, or seep further down to the frame of the vehicle and rust out the bottom.
  • Dust off the Engine. Take a look at your engine every time you clean your car. Clean it off if it has accumulated dust or if it's become greasy from the oils. By maintaining your engine it can help your vehicle's resale value stay up or increase and it will also help give your vehicle a longer life if you choose to keep it until it can't run anymore.
  • Hide the bumps and bruises. Every car accumulates nicks and marks whether it's from rocks on the highway or other car's doors being flung open. Don't ignore these bumps and bruises! Find the name of your vehicle's paint, which is usually found on the sticker on the inside of the driver's door and touch up the spots with the paint. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself then you should go to your local auto body detail shop to get it done. It'll be worth it in the long run; it prevents those spots from rusting and it adds to your resale value!

Customers in the Wilmington, Delaware area should stop by Koons Lexus of Wilmington with any questions!

Record Sales Hit an All Time High

We might still be in a recession, but March is turning out to be one of the best months for auto sales in at least six years!  Showing increases, major automakers like Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Nissan, and GM reported the highest monthly sales totals since the start of the economic slide in 2007.  Adding up to about 5% more than March of last year, and most likely more than the 1.6 million sold in May 2007, the auto industry sold approximately 1.5 million vehicles just this March.

So, what sparked this boom in purchases?  Was it the flashy new vehicles and low interest rates luring buyers into Utah dealer showrooms?  Maybe it was the idea of replacing an older Ford truck or car?  Statistics state that the average age of a U.S. vehicle out on the road is over 11 years.

As stated on sltrib.com, "I haven't seen our numbers yet, but I'm sure our dealers are seeing similar results," Craig Bickmore, executive director of the New Car Dealers of Utah stated. "The industry really has been performing well, both here in Utah and nationally."  The auto industry is locked as leader in the economic recovery, broadcasting a strong first-quarter close and an ever-increasing consumer confidence.  One thing is for certain: the demand for new cars is spreading equally across Utah, making it hard to keep top Ford, Jeep, Dodge, and Subaru vehicles on hand.

It's a known fact that our nation thrives on auto sales, which means this burst could greatly benefit our economy.  Ford and General Motors sales each rose about 6 percent nationally.  Compared with last March, Chrysler sales rose 5 percent.  Other manufacturers like Toyota and Nissan reported 1 percent sales increases each, with Nissan claiming March was still the best month in company history.  Nearly 172,000 cars and trucks by Chrysler were sold—the best month since December 2007—and Ford is reporting the best month since May 2007 with 236,000 sold.

These strong numbers are just another sign that Americans are buying cars in inflating numbers, as their financial situations improve.  It is no different at here in Utah.  Ford dealers are seeing a boost in sales, thanks to the redesigned Fusion sedan and Escape SUV.  Both cars reached record monthly sales.  Of course, the F-series pickup is still the nation's best-selling vehicle, and even rose a whole 16%.  The good people of Utah are more than happy to be investing in a new vehicle, especially one that is family friendly and energy efficient.  It looks like the recession is finally receding!

Truck wraps Philadelphia PA enhance brand visibility

When you print your logo on truck wraps Philadelphia PA or on bus wraps NJ what you get is your brand awarness to a very large number of people. Studies show that this number may reach an average of 3,000 people per minute, which is impressive as much as it is useful. In general, these figures mean that your logo meets over 3000 potential customers per minute. Of these, some are new and become aware for the first time with your brand, while for those who already know your brand this meeting will be to remember the interaction with the brand, thus strengthening the relationship.

The imprinted truck wraps Philadelphia PA is the best way to put a brand on the move and do what is best in the situation that had to do with a city with crowded traffic. In fact, the more traffic is crowded, the advertisement carried out on bus wraps NJ is seen by as many people as possible and practical is presented in front of as many potential customers. Besides the benefits that these prints bring to the brand owner, also those who have contact with the brand printed in this way benefits enough. It's really useful and fun that sometimes companies and ideas actually pass near you, inspiring you to solve certain situations without having to wait to hang yourself seeking respective companies.

Sometimes we get ideas on the fly, so that as a print is more memorable, either because of graphics or color, or because of the advantages it shows briefly - the more excited a potential customer is to be, given the opportunity to solve a problem as just walking. To be more visible and easier to grasp, a print's better to be bigger and more impressive. But above all it is good to include data as easy to remember, like very few words, or a single website or email address, or a telephone number as simple as possible - or maybe just the brand name and a suggestive image – these give the best results. This is due mainly to the fact that adverts imprinted on truck wraps Philadelphia PA or on on bus wraps NJ are usually noticed while moving at high speed.

There is also the situation where the car décor is seen while the vehicle is stationary in a parking lot or in front of the headquarters, but it is more attractive to see a brand to work and a moving vehicle is the most powerful suggestion of the fact that a brand is at work and doing its job. But it is not to be neglectedthe visual impact that it has on the client an entire personalized fleet of vehicles, with the cars nicely aligned and labeled, parked in front of the headquarters of the companie, transmitting the powerful impact this company has on its own business environment.

Large prints, placed outside normal business context, meaning those advertisements that are actually placed on the street is a distinct type of advertising, with measurable and very good results. There's even a trick of buyer psychology that advertisers actually counts on when recommending this way of advertising. This trick can be described as the "effect of surprise", and means that when we meet on the street with the name of a company that normally perceive as something static one, the reaction is a pleasant surprise - a feeling similar to that we have when we meet again with one of our acquaintances. And the resulting feeling is that the relationship between us has advanced in this way.

New Tyres for Your Car

Cars are a very important tool in our daily lives. It helps us to get to places easily and quickly. Most people will want to invest in a good car that can last them for a long time. But buying a good car is only one part of the equation. You also need to take good care of your ride. This could include bringing it for regular service and maintenance and also washing it to keep it looking brand new. One of the parts that people always neglect is the Tyres of the car.

Experts suggest that you change your tires once every two years or more frequently. This is based upon your distance travelled and also your usage. Some people will tend to drive faster than others and this could lead to their tires balding out faster than normal. If you notice your tires giving way, it is about time that you get them changed for a set of new ones. There are many types of Tyres Kotara  and you will definitely be able to find a type that suits your usage and your budget.

Why do you need to change your Tyres every one or two years? First of all, it is important to avoid accidents that could harm you and your loved ones. Bald tires can easily slip on the road. If you drive too fast or go onto a puddle of water, your car can lose traction to the ground and slip. Besides that, old Tyres are also not good for your car. Especially if your tires are leaking, it can lead to an imbalance in your car suspension. This will then make your car tilt towards one side causing passengers to feel uncomfortable. Besides that, it also causes one side of your tires to eat up faster compared to the other.

There are many places where you can find cheap tires in Australia. Tyres Woy Woy  and  Tyres Edgeworth are some of the many options that you have in hand. If you are new to tires, it is always best to get the opinion of experts. Talk to the mechanics and check out the tires that they have in their workshops. If you are a heavy driver, you might want to invest in high quality ones that are durable and have extended grips. If you are a sports car driver, you will want to invest in lighter tires at Tyres Wyong. This does not necessarily mean that the tires are not durable. There are many racing tires which are lightweight yet long lasting.

If you feel that your tires are starting to wear out, it might just be the right time for you to drop by and get a new set of Tyres Hamilton.

Best Ways to Drive in Traffic

Traffic is frustrating for everyone; it's hard to not feel like the most impatient person when you're stuck in traffic. Because of the impatient nature that accompanies traffic, many drivers make driving decisions that are dangerous and not what they would normally do. For some reason we all think that by changing lanes is really going to be beneficial when we're stuck in bumper to bumper traffic, it's not worth it. When you're jumping at the chance to switch lanes and have to cut people off to do so then you are easily putting you, your passengers and the other drivers in great danger.

Numerous accidents are caused by agitated drivers who get mad at other drivers for no reason. Not having any patience doesn't just damage the way you feel and act at that moment but it can damage your car over time.

Due to road rage, defensive drivers can get quickly frazzled because of the pressure a rage-filled, more aggressive driver puts on them to move over or drive faster. By pressuring the more cautious drivers and making them nervous, they may make bad decisions because they are trying to rush to get out of your way and that can easily cause an accident.

So we want to help you get through traffic without any problems or without any frustrations. Here are some tips:

  • Remain calm. If you're the impatient driver or the cautious driver, either way you need to do your best to remain calm when you're stuck in traffic. Don't let the stop and go fill you with rage and cause you to make rash decisions. We can assure you that you'll get to where you need to go, may not be when you want to get there but you'll get there, and getting there safely is the most important. If you are the more timid driver, don't let the aggressive drivers effect the way you drive, go at a pace you are comfortable with and if you can, move over to let them pass you.
  • Be attentive. Other drivers can make very unexpected moves, the best way for you to avoid getting into an accident with them is to be attentive to your surroundings. Never completely trust a driver, they may make a move that affects you and causes you to swerve and lose control. Be aware of the vehicles around you as well as the environment, so that you can be prepared for anything from an object that is loose on the highway or an animal that runs onto the road.
  • Plan ahead. If you have a bit of a time cushion and are able to wait for the traffic to go away or if there is a way for you to get around it then you should do that! If you don't deal with traffic well then the best thing for you to do is to avoid it as much as you can

Take these tips into consideration and you should be able to deal with traffic better! For more traffic tips, customers in the Columbia, SC area should come by Jim Hudson Hyundai!
